Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account information: the email address and password you register with, and your display name where you provide one. Passwords are stored only as hashes by our authentication provider — we never see them.
• Profile information: optional details you add to your profile, such as your name or the batch you study in.
• Purchase and order information: the books you buy, order amount, discount and coupon used, payment method, payment reference, order status and timestamps.
• Learning and progress data: which chapters and topics you open and complete, your bookmarks, and basic topic view counts used to improve content.
• Policy acceptance: the fact that you accepted our purchase policies at checkout, with a timestamp and the policy version.
• Technical data: standard request information such as IP address, browser and device type produced by our hosting and security infrastructure.

We do not collect card numbers, PINs or mobile-wallet credentials. Those are handled by the payment provider.

2. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to keep you signed in, to remember interface preferences, and to cache content for faster loading. We do not use them for advertising profiling. Clearing them will sign you out of the platform.

3. How we use information

• To create and secure your account and keep you signed in.
• To grant and verify access to the content you purchased.
• To process orders, coupons, receipts and refund requests.
• To show your reading progress, bookmarks and revision suggestions.
• To provide customer support and respond to your messages.
• To detect abuse, prevent fraud and improve platform performance and content quality.

4. Third-party services

• Supabase — database, authentication and file storage for account data, content and uploaded images.
• Cloudflare — application hosting, content delivery and security.
• Payment provider — processes payments and returns a payment status and reference to us. Provider: PayStation.

These providers process data on our behalf for the purposes above. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Data security

Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Database access is restricted with row-level security policies so that a signed-in user can read only their own account, orders, progress and purchased content. Administrative operations are restricted to authorised staff accounts and validated on the server.

6. Data retention

Account, order and access records are kept while your account is active and for as long as needed for support, accounting and legal obligations. Learning progress and bookmarks are kept so you can resume study. When you request deletion, we remove your account and personal data except records we must retain for financial or legal reasons.

7. Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, and you can withdraw from the platform at any time. Write to adhyayansupports@gmail.com from your registered email address and we will respond as soon as reasonably possible.

8. Children

Adhyayan is intended for students, and younger students should use the platform with the involvement of a parent or guardian, who is responsible for the account and any purchases made through it.

9. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform changes. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
